REGULATIONS FOR 1ST INTERNATIONAL EOLIEMAN 18th APRIL 2010
RACE ENTRY: The closing date for race entries will be on 31st March 2010 or when there are 150 entrants.
Race entry costs €100; Entries without payment will not be valid for the event. Due to the limited number of participants, entries will only be confirmed after receiving a copy of payment made by bank transfer.

EVENT DETAILS 1ST INTERNATIONAL EOLIEMAN
Swimming course: 08.00 am start for everybody. Swimmers will do 2 laps for a total distance of 1.9 km in the sea near Lipari with the start from the small port next to the transition area and the exit near the start. The course will be marked with buoys that swimmers will have to pass on their left to avoid disqualification. The water temperature , which will determine whether wetsuits are necessary or not, will be measured by the event judges on Sunday morning and will be put on show in the transition area. A rescue team and scuba divers will be in the water in case of emergency.
Cycling course: The cycling course will pass through the areas: Canneto, Porticello, Quatrropani, Pianoconte and Acquacalda. Riders will do 3 laps distancing 30 km each (See Courses), marked with signs at all main crossroads and by white arrows painted on the road; it will already be possible to see the course from Friday 16th April. Drafting will not be permitted in the cycling event. F.I.TRI regulations will be in force. Riders have to wear a hard helmet which has not had any alterations made to it. The roads will not be completely closed to traffic so riders have to comply with the highway code. There will be a support vehicle available.
Running course: this is made up of 4 laps, each one measuring 5.250 km, yellow arrows painted on the road will mark the course. The course can already be seen from Friday 16th April.
Only the athletes will run on the course for safety reasons and fairness, no kind of support vehicle is permitted with penalty of disqualification. The race will end at 16.30, anyone who crosses the finish line after this time will not appear in the final results. Athletes who retire during the race must inform the race organizers.
Feed stations for cycling event: There will be 3 feed stations along the cycling course. At the 1st and 3rd station there will be still mineral water in 500 ml open bottles, while at 2nd feedstation there will be 500 ml open bottles of mineral water and hydration/energy drinks.
Feed stations for running: There will be 4 feedstations for each lap, there will be water and energy drinks at 2 of these, while at the others, there will be water, energy drinks and sponging.
End of race refreshments: There will be refreshments at the end of the event in the start/finish area.
Finisher t-shirt: Finisher t-shirts will only be given to athletes who complete the whole event.
Prize giving: the prize giving ceremony will take place at 17.00 in the start/finish area.
Bike service: From Saturday afternoon, a free bike repair service will be available.
Civil conduct: The organization will not be held responsible for any accidents, damage and theft.
Photography service: Photos of the event can be previewed at the end of the event. Furthermore, it will be possible to see and purchase photos on the official web site after a few days.
